Paulinhx is a selector, curator and multidisciplinary artist from Gasconha and the Basque Country, blending feminist poetics, diasporic rhythms, soul traditions and political resonance in genre-fluid sets. Resident at Organ' Phantom and Jazz Athletic Club Radio, they have performed internationally alongside artists including Nathalie Robinson, Lady Blacktronika, Danilo Timm, Kotoe, RP Boo, DJ Pierre and Linn da Quebrada.
Raised between Occitan and Italian musical traditions, Paulinhx grew up surrounded by blues, jazz, village brass bands, cassette tapes, pirate radio broadcasts and homemade mixtapes. Early encounters with hip-hop, dancehall, drum & bass, rave culture and independent sound systems shaped a lifelong passion for musical discovery and collective listening.
Alongside DJing, they play guitar, bass and percussion, explore music production and remain an avid record digger and cultural researcher. Their selections move fluidly between soul, jazz, house, broken beat, footwork, baile funk, bass cultures and diasporic rhythms.
Beyond performing, Paulinhx is also active as a curator, event organizer and community builder, contributing to Berlin's vibrant musical ecosystem through independent events, radio programming and collaborative projects. They are committed to creating inclusive spaces where sound becomes joy, resistance and collective memory.
Paulinhx is a selector, curator and multidisciplinary artist from Gasconha and the Basque Country whose work explores the intersections of sound, memory, indigenous cultures and collective experience. Through genre-fluid DJ sets, radio broadcasts and cultural projects, they weave together feminist poetics, soul traditions, political resonance and dancefloor energy, creating musical journeys that move between intimacy and celebration.
A resident at Organ' Phantom and Jazz Athletic Club Radio, Paulinhx has performed internationally and shared lineups with artists including Nathalie Robinson, Lady Blacktronika, Danilo Timm, Kotoe, Andi.A, Dgeral, RP Boo, DJ Pierre, Linn da Quebrada and many others. Their approach to DJing is rooted as much in radio storytelling and research as in dancefloor dynamics, drawing connections between musical histories, contemporary club cultures and overlooked sonic archives.
Their relationship with music began long before they entered clubs or radio studios. Raised within a family environment shaped by blues, jazz, Italian musical traditions and village brass bands in Occitania, they were surrounded by instruments, rehearsals, recordings and live performances from an early age. Family gatherings often became informal concerts, and music was understood as a shared cultural practice rather than a separate activity.
As a child and teenager, Paulinhx spent countless hours listening to cassette tapes, recording of pirate radio broadcasts and live concerts, exchanging later CD mixtapes and building homemade compilations. Discovering hip-hop mixtapes and events through cousins and friends opened the door to wider musical worlds, while local DJ's from dancehall, drum & bass, electro, free-party and rave scenes provided formative experiences. Sound systems, independent parties and underground communities became places of learning, experimentation and belonging. The energy of Bordeaux's alternative music scenes, free-party networks and DIY culture played a lasting role in shaping their artistic identity.
Alongside DJing, they developed an active practice as a musician, playing guitar, bass and percussion, performing in bands through residencies at the infamous Rock School Barbey and Krakatoa throughout their high-school years and continuing to explore collaborative music-making today. Their curiosity eventually expanded toward production, recording technologies, digital audio workstations and sound design, alongside a lifelong passion for record collecting and musical discovery.
Travel remains a central part of their creative practice. Whether performing, researching local musical traditions or digging through record stores and flea markets, Paulinhx approaches music as a living archive of stories, movements and encounters. Their selections reflect this spirit, moving fluidly between soul, jazz, house, broken beat, footwork, baile funk, bass cultures, experimental electronics and diasporic rhythms.
Beyond performing, Paulinhx is also active as a curator, event organizer and cultural facilitator. Over the years they have contributed to European's diverse musical ecosystem through independent events, collaborative projects, radio programming and community-oriented initiatives. Their work extends beyond the dancefloor, fostering connections between artists, audiences and cultural networks both locally and internationally. Through ongoing involvement with the female:pressure network and online community platforms, they continue to support visibility, knowledge-sharing and inclusive practices across contemporary music communities.
Paulinhx is committed to creating inclusive spaces where listening becomes a collective experience and where sound can function simultaneously as joy, resistance and collective memory.
